Claire’s recent work has been based on old snapshots which are intriguing artefacts in their own right, but are also, in some cases, the only remaining fragments of lives now gone.

She has juxtaposed these scraps of ordinary lives with the grand universal pattern of nature: the Fibonacci, or Golden spiral. She adds text, specially written for the paintings, and choose titles from works of literature that resonate with her subject-matter.

She aims to place the small, decent, ordinary life in a position of honour in the universal scheme.
